There’s a monthly classic & custom car meetup out by San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, and when my schedule permits, I love getting out there to draw some vintage cars with Douglas Gorney and his Sunset Sketchers group. Here are a few recent outings, from January 2023…

Another very welcome return: regional nature journaling meetups, hosted by the indispensable Kate Rutter. On April 16, we went to Shoreline at Mountain View, which connects to the Baylands Nature Preserve.
To my delight, my old school has started running in-person figure drawing workshops again, so I’ve been abusing my alumni privileges to crash the occasional Quick Studies session. These are all one, two, and three-minute drawings of humans in the proverbial “state of nature.”
The season started off with the wonderful Dragonfly on February 22. I’ll add more sessions here as I gradually scan them.
A few years back, I started doing a series of mini-comics to accompany my reading of Homer’s The Odyssey (Robert Fagles translation). Now that I’ve finally completed the whole thing, here are all the installments in one place!
